Philadelphia 18-year-old discovered alive after going missing days before high school graduation
According to NBC 10, an 18-year-old Philadelphia woman who went missing five days before graduating from high school has safely arrived home.
Shalaya Porter was last seen by her family on June 5 and had been reported missing for 11 days, according to Philadelphia police.
According to ABC 6, she had been getting ready to begin her freshman year at Morgan State University in the autumn.
This week, Porter's mother, grandmother, and aunts gathered outside of her high school to distribute flyers, according to ABC 6. Along with her family, a motivational high school teacher has raised awareness of her disappearance. They claimed it was strange that Porter missed her graduation and vanished without her mobile.
"Baby, I adore you. Please just go home. We had a tonne of ideas. Through tears, her mother Kaleia Porter told ABC 6 that "I'm supposed to be going to college with you."
After going missing for 11 days, a teenager from Philadelphia was located safe and sound.
The 18-year-old Shalaya Porter was last seen on June 5 close to the 4600 block of Fairmount Avenue, which is where her grandmother lives.
Police claimed to have discovered her on Friday, June 16—alive and secure.
Porter's absence from her high school graduation on June 9 was reported to NBC10 by family members who claimed she left her phone on her bed. Porter had a stellar attendance record at her school, according to the family, so it was extremely unusual for her to disappear.
