Jett Howard NBA Comparison
Howard and Hawks shooter Bogdan Bogdanovic have comparable personalities. They both excel at spotting up or using a deft handling to generate space for a step-back. Both are knockout three-point shooters. They can occasionally orchestrate a few possessions and have similar playmaking abilities. Additionally, both are below-average defenders who struggle to avoid contact during drives. Finally, despite Howard being 2" taller and having a wider wingspan than Bogdanovic, neither are plus athletes.
Bogdanovic's 2020 season, which featured 15.1 PPG, 3.4 APG, and 3.4 RPG while shooting a 37.2 3PT%, is a good indicator of Howard's future output.

Strengths: Howard's combination of size and three-point shooting makes him valuable. It's uncommon to see forwards 6'8" or taller with a long three-point range. Howard regularly roasted defenders off-the-dribble into a step-back three, demonstrating that he is more versatile than just a spot-up shooter.
When pursued off the perimeter, Howard also shown a reliable mid-range jumper and mediocre finishing abilities. Howard can be a good cutter, but he won't be a high volume slasher in the least. Additionally, he occasionally shown playmaking ability by making accurate passes and clever reads. Overall, Howard will offer strong outside shooting along with sporadic instances of playmaking and self-creation.
Weaknesses: Although Howard's stature helps him get his shot off over defenders, it wasn't really effective inside the arc. He had trouble recovering from contact and had trouble finishing through it. His strengths basically make him a tall shooting guard. In spite of his stature, Howard had trouble fighting through screens and keeping up with ball handlers when playing defence. His primary skill will be defence, but his defensive potential is limited by his average athleticism.
Jett Howard NBA Draft Ranking, Team Fit, Landing Spot
Howard is ranked 17th overall on my Big Board in the sixth tier, behind players like Keyonte George, Jordan Hawkins, and Brice Sensabaugh.
The Lakers (17th) are the best team for Howard because they need to provide more shooting support for LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Los Angeles had a 34.6 3PT% during the regular season and a 33.5 3PT% during the playoffs, placing them 24th overall. In addition, they play outstanding defence (3rd Defensive Rating post-deadline), which lessens Jett's weakness.
A deep draught means that Howard is expected to land somewhere between picks 17 and 24. Before having a terrible postseason season, Brooklyn (21st, 22nd) had back-to-back picks and was ranked 18th in 3PT% post-deadline. Howard would provide Mikal Bridges and Nic Claxton some breathing room while also presenting much-needed potential for self-creation. The presence of Howard also gives Brooklyn flexibility. The Nets might trade Dorian Finney-Smith or Royce O'Neale for assets if Cam Johnson decides to stay with the team. However, because of Howard, the Nets can afford to let Johnson depart if another team offers him a sizable contract.
