The eagerly awaited 2024 Copa America is scheduled to make its way back to America. The competition will take place from June 20 through July 14, according to a recent CONMEBOL press release.

For the first time since 2016, the famous competition will be held on American territory, which is a big development for American football.

Football fans may anticipate viewing all ten CONMEBOL nations, including the reigning Copa America and World Cup champions Argentina, among the competing teams. The top six rated CONCACAF nations will also take part. The six CONCACAF national teams will be given the chance to enter this prestigious competition during the 2023–24 CONCACAF Nations League.

Alejandro Dominguez, president of CONMEBOL, commented on the long-standing partnership between the two confederations and emphasised their mutual love of sports and football. "Our bond is forged not just by our common emotional and historical links, but also by our love of football. We aim to keep growing our joint initiatives and projects, feeding this common passion into more significant competitions," said Dominguez.

The Copa America competition in 2024 will be a thrilling showcase of top-level football as well as a useful training ground for the FIFA World Cup in 2026. The United States, Mexico, and Canada will co-host this international tournament, highlighting the crucial role that North America plays in world football.

USMNT looks to gain momentum for 2024

The recent USMNT triumphs over Mexico (3-0) and Canada (2-0) in the 2022-23 Nations League Final Four are promising as the participating nations get ready for the next Concacaf Gold Cup group stage, which begins on June 24. These victories allowed the USMNT to capture the tournament trophy for the second time in a row.

Concacaf President Victor Montagliani emphasised the value of the collaboration between the two confederations in fostering the expansion of men's and women's football in both regions. "This partnership will give our federations more opportunity and meet the needs of our devoted fan base. To assure football's continued prosperity in all regions, we want to collaborate with CONMEBOL, Montagliani said.
